Otley Field Trip_sliderThe landscape and garden design industry is an expanding area which, in recent years, has benefited enormously from exposure in the media and a burgeoning public interest in garden visiting, historic buildings and landscapes. There is a growing need for professional landscape and garden designers with skills in art, landscape science and design.

George Ishmael is a Visiting Lecturer in the HE department at Otley, where he teaches units in Designing with Plants and Contemporary Gardens and Landscape History. These units form part of the 2-year Foundation Degree in Landscape and Garden Design.

Students are encouraged to get involved with real projects. Recent projects have included the UCS car park, an historic walled garden and a garden at the Tower of London.
